| Cedar Breaks Amphitheater |
Cedar Breaks National Monument is a small place but geologically significant because it is part of the Colorado Plateau which rose millions of years ago but it is still rising 2 mm per year so geologists love the place. This amphitheater is 3 miles wide. Called a National Monument not a National Park. National Parks are designated by Congress. National Monuments are designated by the President.

It was time to leave the campground and travel to eastern Utah to Moab. On U.S. 70 one comes to a sign that says, "No Bull! No Services for the next 110 miles." I filled up with gas and made sure I had lunch and went into the wilderness. Along the 110 miles are overlooks because the landscape is beautiful and desolate. A fascinating stretch of highway.
Next, Moab and Arches National Park.
