Now in beautiful Maine on the east coast where I began my adventure, I board the Schooner Lewis R French this evening. I have sailed on this schooner for the last 7 years and always look
forward to the trip. I see new ports every year, lots of wildlife along the way, good sailing, good company and a very good, friendly crew. From tonight and through the next 4 days no cell phone calls, no e-mail will get to me. No electronics on the boat and probably no signals either. My car and trailer will be stored in the sheds at a marina where they store boats in the winter.
