Up Sisters Creek

Friends Judy and Tom invited me for a boatride up Sisters Creek and out for lunch. The creek is a narrowing creek which winds around and suddenly provides views of boats moored or kayakers or an osprey sitting on a dead tree just waiting for me to take his picture. We left the dock and followed the channels into Boot Key Harbor looking at all the moored boats and picking out boats we would like to have. Wandered into Whiskey Creek and then to Sisters Creek. At the farthest end it narrows to a place where one shuts off the engine and pulls the boat through using the overhanging mangroves. We couldn't get into that part but we met Kayakers coming out. Back to Dockside for lunch about 3 in the afternoon. We shared a pitcher of beer and ate local fish. Out again in the 14 ft aluminum boat to Lazy Days for Happy Hour. That is what the Keys are like. We ate oysters and raw tuna. Hopefully the oysters are not going to disappear to the oil spill. Home again to the campground by 6, I didn't have to eat again all day!
Today my neighbor and friend, John, hitched me up and coached me as I learned to back up the trailer. Then I said goodbye to John and the Keys until December and left for the real first day of my adventures.
